Actor and screenwriter JOE BOLOGNA (1938-2017) and actress, screenwriter and director Renee Taylor (born Renee Wexler in 1933) were married in 1965. The couple wrote a number of scripts, including the Broadway hit comedy, Lovers and Other Strangers (Bologna and Taylor were nominated for a Academy Award for the 1970 film adaptation), Made for Each Other (1971) and Bermuda Avenue Triangle (1997). The couple, who won an Emmy Award for their 1973 TV special, Acts of Love and Other Comedies, also directed and co-starred in It Had to be You (1989, adapted from their play). Bolgona began his show business career producing and directing Manhattan-based TV commercials. After making his film debut in Made for Each Other (1971), Bologna appeared in a number of feature films, including The Big Bus (1976), My Favorite Year (1982), The Woman in Red (1984), It Had to Be You (1989) and Big Daddy. He was also seen in a number of made-for-TV movies. Taylor had first gained national attention on the late-night Jack Paar Program (1959-1962) and made her film debut in 1961 in The Errand Boy. Taylor's other feature film credits include The Producers (1968), Last of the Red Hot Lovers (1972), All I Want for Christmas (1991) and National Lampoon's Lady Killers (2003). Corners lightly worn.
