The American classic feel-good author signs "yours very truly" along
with his name
Autograph sentiment signed: "Yours very truly/Joseph C.
Lincoln", 5x3½. Joseph C. Lincoln (1870-1944) was an American author,
writing poems, novels, and short stories. He is most famous for his work
being set in a fictionalized Cape Cod, and for his writing being mostly
"feel-good" pieces, designed to make readers accepting of themselves and those
around them. Lincoln's work also helped to alleviate the stress and change
of a rapidly modernizing America by allowing them an idealized insight into
old traditions and standards of early America. Several of his stories have
been adapted into films, from as early as 1913 with Tea and Toast (his
novel The Postmaster), 1925 with Rugged Water, and as
recently as 2008 with The Golden Boys (his novel Cap'N
Eri). Adhesive residue on verso. Corners slightly worn. Fine
condition.
