Printed Card Signed in Ink: "Joseph E. Brennan", in blue ink, 3½x2, with the Maine State seal and "Governor of Maine" imprinted on the card. Accompanied by: an 8x10 unsigned color photograph showing him as a young Governor of Maine. Joseph E. Brennan was born on November 2, 1934 in Portland, Maine. He attended the University of Maine Law School and served as District Attorney of Cumberland County, Maine. He was a member of the Maine House of Representatives (1965-1971) and the State Senate (1973-1975). Brennan became the state Attorney General in 1975 before being elected as the Governor of Maine (1979-1987). In 1987 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Democrat from Maine's 1st district and served from 1987 to 1991. He was later commissioner on the Federal Maritime Commission. Fine condition.
