The 1930s short story author sends letter of thanks to a fan and updates him on her current projects, signs name in black ink
Typed letter signed: "Yours sincerely,/ Josephine Keizer Littlejohn" in blue ink. 1 page, 8½x11. In full: "Dear Mr. Bohrer, I am very glad that you like my story, DARK MOON. It is very interesting indeed for an author to hear of personal interest in a story on which she has worked a long time, all alone with a typewriter for her sole audience. It makes the story "come alive" for the author! The story is about my own family - the way my daughters went through the Depression - all of it except the plot is true. We are now living in Mexico City - as you may have surmised from the story - and I am working on a sequel to be called Mexican Moon. Hope I finish it pretty soon and that the Cosmo likes it. I cannot be listed as a famous author but I am glad to add my signature to your collection of authors if you wish it. Here's the best of good fortune for the New Year!". Josephine Keizer Littlejohn (1887-1960) was an American writer whose short stories appeared in numerous magazines. They include Dark Moon (1937) which appeared in Cosmopolitan, A Man, a Woman and - (1932) which appeared in Redbook Magazine, and The Morrison Browns (1931) which appeared in The Saturday Evening Post. Normal mailing folds. Toned. Light surface creases. Corners rounded. Creases on verso slightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
