5x3 card signed with his "best regards"
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Best regards/Joshua/Logan", 5x3 card.
Joshua Logan (1908-1988) made his Broadway acting debut in 1932, but
focused thereafter on writing and directing. He received Oscar nominations as
Best Director for Picnic (1955) and Sayonara (1957). He won a
Pulitzer Prize, along with co-author Oscar Hammerstein II, for South
Pacific, which also earned him a Tony. He had already directed a string
of Broadway successes before World War II: I Married an Angel,
Knickerbocker Holiday, Morning's at Seven and Charlie's
Aunt. After the war, in which he served in public relations and
intelligence, Logan found even greater success directing Annie Get Your
Gun, Mister Roberts, Fanny and of course, South
Pacific. Fine condition.
