NY: Delacorte Press, 1976. First printing. Joshua Logan (1908-1988) made
his Broadway acting debut in 1932, but focused thereafter on writing and
directing. He received Oscar nominations as Best Director for Picnic
(1955) and Sayonara (1957). He won a Pulitzer Prize, along with
co-author Oscar Hammerstein II, for South Pacific, which also earned
him a Tony. He had already directed a string of Broadway successes before World
War II: I Married an Angel, Knickerbocker Holiday, Morning's at
Seven and Charlie's Aunt. After the war, in which he served in public
relations and intelligence, Logan found even greater success directing Annie
Get Your Gun, Mister Roberts, Fanny and of course, South
Pacific.
Dust jacket worn and faded at edges and corners. Book cover
slightly faded at edges. Pages lightly toned. Otherwise, fine
condition.
