folded. Palm Beach, Florida, circa 1979. Mailing flyer, unposted,
announcing weekly programs in a lecture series, January 2-March 27, 1979.
Featured is the program for January 16, "A Broadway Scrapbook", featuring Josh
Logan and Company of Four, Paul Trueblood at the Piano. Signed next to photo of
Logan (b/w, 3x3½). JOSHUA LOGAN (1908-1988) made his Broadway acting
debut in 1932, but focused thereafter on writing and directing. He received
Oscar nominations as Best Director for Picnic (1955) and
Sayonara (1957). He won a Pulitzer Prize, along with co-author
Oscar Hammerstein II, for South Pacific. Listed among the Company of
Four performing here is Nedda (Harrigan) Logan, his second wife, with
whom he had been performing nightclub medleys of his Broadway hits since 1977.
Paul TRUEBLOOD, a jazz pianist, composer and music director, collaborated
with pop singer Maryann Faithfull on a musical review and recording,
September Songs: The Music of Kurt Weill (1995). Fine
condition.
