On November 22, 1963, U.S. District Court Judge Hughes was called aboard Air Force One at Dallas' Love Field to give the Oath of Office to her old friend, Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, following President Kennedy's assassination. In the Roe v. Wade case, Judge Hughes ruled Texas' anti-abortion statutes void; they were vague and infringed on the 9th and 14th Amendment rights of "Roe". The government appealed directly to the Supreme Court. On January 22, 1973, the Court upheld Hughes' decision by a vote of 7-2. Adequate contrast. One-inch vertical crease at top center. Surface scratches, not visible head on.
