JUDITH ALLEN
Rare signature from the 1930's actress on a 14x11 lobby card for the
1933 film, signed to a fan
Inscribed lobby card signed: "To Clint/with Love/Judith
Allen", in blue ink, Colorized 14x11. Actress Judith Allen
(1911-1996) was a popular choice for 1930's dramas, but found greater
success with her role as leading lady in several Westerns, including The
Thundering Herd (1933), Boots and Saddles (1937), and It
Happened Out West (1937). However, after the 1930's, Allen's roles
became fewer and farther apart, with her last role being an uncredited
appearance in the 1952 film Something to Live For. Corners worn
and creased. Surface creases. Toned, esp. on right side of lobby card. Small
tear on right edge. Lightly soiled on outer margins. Stray ink marks running
from title on lobby card to bottom margin. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso.
Otherwise, fine condition.
