Judith Ivey (born in 1951) won Tony Awards in 1983 (Steaming) and 1985 (HurlyBurly)
and was nominated for a Tony in 1992 (Park Your Car in Harvard Yard). Best known to
television audiences as B.J. Poteet (1992-1993) on the sitcom Designing Women, Ivey has
also appeared as a regular in several other television shows. She can also be seen in The Long
Hot Summer (1985), Decoration Day (1990), and the Stephen King miniseries Rose Red
(2003). In 1998, she was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in What the Deaf Man
