JUDITH LIGHT The famed television actress signs her name for a fan in black pencil Autograph Note signed: "To/ Robert/ Always - my best/ to you/ Judith/ Light" in black pencil, 5x3. Actress Judith Light (b. 1949) is best known for her role as Angela Bower on Who's The Boss? (1984-1992), but daytime soap fans remember her for her role as Karen Wolek on One Life to Live from 1977-1983. Not only did Light win two Emmy Awards, two Soapy Awards, and a Soap Opera Hall of Fame Award for her portrayal of Wolek, but one of her performances, from the episode "Karen Wolek on the Stand", was so powerful that it is often used as a model in acting classes - and was recently recognized by "TV Guide" as one of the "100 Most Memorable Moments on Television". Light gave another powerful performance in the made-for-TV docudrama, The Ryan White Story (1988), and was awarded the Helen Hayes Award in Washington, D.C. and the Elliot Norton Award in Boston for her performance in the off-Broadway play, Wit (Light shaved her head completely to star as Vivian Bearing, a literary academic dying of ovarian cancer). Light has also appeared in the short-lived TV series, The Simple Life in 1998, had a recurring role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit from 2002-2003 and has guest starred on several TV shows, from Kojak in 1977 to The Tony Danza Show in 2004. She has been married to actor Robert Desiderio, whom she met on the set of One Life to Live, since 1985. Corners rounded. Ink notes on verso in an unknown hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
