JUDY CARNE
At the peak of her popularity, the actress signs a loan-out agreement for her appearance on the Kraft Music Hall, in black felt tip
Contract Signed: "Judy Carne" in black felt tip. 1 page. 8½x11. Place: New York, N. Y. Date: July 8, 1969. She signs her assent to an agreement between contractor, Whitney Productions, and producer, Yorkshire Productions, for her appearance on the Kraft Music Hall, to be televised November 5, 1969. Carne is to be paid $5,000 for this appearance. Trained as a dancer, English actress Judy Carne (1939-2015) starred as an exchange student on Fair Exchange (1961-1963), shortly after her arrival in the US. She had a well-received but short-lived series, Love on a Rooftop (1966), and then gained renown as the "Sock it to Me!" girl on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (1968-1970). While hugely popular, this role may have been Carne's undoing, as she found mostly TV guest spots and regional theater roles thereafter. Serious drug problems, and troubled marriages - including one to Burt Reynolds (1963-1965) didn't help her career either. She wrote a confessional memoir, Laughing on the Outside, Crying on the Inside: The Bittersweet Saga of the Sock-It-To-Me Girl, in 1985. 1" missing from top left corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
