In full: "Thank you for your nice note of congratulations and good wishes on the Governor's election as Vice President. It has been good to hear from many, many friends who have given him their confidence and support. Sincerely". Elinor Isabel "Judy" Judefind (1921-2012) married Spiro T. Agnew (1918-1996) on May 27, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. The couple would have four children. At the time she wrote this letter, Mrs. Agnew's husband, who was Governor of Maryland, had been elected to serve as Richard M. Nixon's Vice President (1969-1973). In 1973, Agnew would become the second U.S. Vice President to resign. Slightly creased with folds, not at signature. Fine condition.
