In full: "Your May flowers have cheered me very much. They really smell of the Spring, which the hot house flowers do not. I hope that you had a fine meeting yesterday. I had fully intended to be present, but the household authorities said: No, and I was obliged to lose Ellen Mitchell's lecture, which I wanted very much to hear." Usual folds, else fine.
