Axelrod, affiliated with the National Institutes of Health, was awarded the 1970 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Bernard Katz and Ulf von Euler for their discoveries of the role played by certain chemicals in the transmission of nerve impulses. Slightly creased edges. Stray ink mark at left blank margin. Pinhead-size stain at lower right blank margin. Overall, fine condition.
