Black and white photo of Lang from 20th Century fox films, Inscribed in person to collector Saul Goodman
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Saul/Best wishes/June Lang", B/w 8x10. Collector's ink stamp on verso dates signature: January 30, 1938. Dancer turned actress Lang (1915-2005, born Winifred June Vlasek in Minneapolis, Minnesota), who began her movie career at age 14, appeared with Laurel and Hardy in Bonnie Scotland (1935), with Warner Baxter and Fredric March in The Road to Glory (1936) and was Shirley Temple's mother in Wee Willie Winkie (1937). After her marriage to convicted mobster John Rosselli, Lang's career spiraled downward, and by 1943, she was playing unbilled bits in films like Flesh and Fantasy (1943) and Up in Arms (1944). Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Corners worn and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
