Document signed "June Lockhart" and by a vice-president of Lassie Television, Inc., both in blue ink. 3 pages, 8½x11, thin paper, carbon copy. June 5, 1958. Addressed to Miss June Lockhart c/o Milton M. Grossman Agency, Los Angeles, California. Lockhart signed this document to confirm that she agreed to appear as Ruth Martin on Lassie (1958-1964). This document laid out a schedule of payments, which started at $2,500 a week for a minimum of three weeks for the first "feature length motion picture photoplay" and increased to a maximum $5,000 a week for the fourth to seventh contract years. Lassie first aired on Sept. 14, 1952. Screen and television actress Lockhart, born in New York City in 1925, played supporting roles in A films (Sergeant York, 1941; The White Cliffs of Dover, 1944) and lead parts in B films (She Wolf of London, 1946) before becoming a TV star in Lassie (1958-1964), Lost in Space (1965-1968) and Petticoat Junction (1968-1970).
