JUNE STOREY
Signed candid photograph of Storey holding a lobby card for the film
Rancho Grande, one of her ten films alongside cowboy Gene Autry
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Clint/a loyal fan
+/friend/June/Storey", in blue ink, Color 4x6. June Storey
(1918-1991) got her start in film with a contract from 20th Century Fox,
appearing in films like Girls' Dormitory (1936), In Old
Chicago (1937), and Orphans of the Street (1938). However, she is
better known for her films made with Republic Pictures that portrayed her as a
"prairie flower", being paired with singing cowboy Gene Autry in ten Western
films. Her film career slowed when Autry left the movie business to join the
World War II effort, making her final film appearance in 1949 with Too
Late for Tears. Before her death, Storey still made appearances at
Western film conventions. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
