Baseball signed by the former NFL whose 2012 suicide has re-kindled debate about the long-term effects of traumatic football injuries
Baseball signed: "J. Seau/#55". "Official League" baseball. American Samoan Tiana Baul "Junior" Seau (1969-2012) was a star linebacker at the University of Southern California before competing in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers (1990-2002), Miami Dolphins (2002-2005) and New England Patriots (2006-2009). He played in Super Bowls XXIX for the Chargers and XVII for the Pats. Seau was a 10-time All Pro selection, and a 12-time Pro Bowler. When Seau shot and killed himself on May 2, 2012, it revived speculation that repeated blows to the head (CTE- chronic traumatic encephalopathy) have contributed to depression, and in some cases to suicidal and otherwise self-destructive behavior, among football veterans. Fine condition.
