Autograph note, unsigned. 5x3. In full: "How on earth can somebody's autograph be of help to students?". Artist Karl Benjamin (1925-2012) is known for his abstract paintings in bright colors, and became popular in the early 1960's along with three other Los Angeles abstract artists. A retrospective of his works had appeared in numerous museums and universities on the West Coast in 1989 and 1990, and experienced a surge of popularity in the 2000's when the Claremont Museum of Art launched an exhibition of his 42 years of work. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on front and verso. Corners slightly worn. Stray pencil marks across note. Otherwise, fine condition.
