of Malden (b/w, 1x1¼) and captioned magazine photo of Tubb (pink-hued b/w, 3x2¼)
below respective signatures. Pages numbered in ink (unknown hand) in lower
corners. KARL MALDEN (1914-2009) won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for
A Steetcar Named Desire (1951) and was nominated for another (On the
Waterfront, 1954). He starred in the TV series Streets of San
Francisco (1972-1977). His face and voice were also familiar as TV spokesman
for American Express cards. Country singer, songwriter and guitarist ERNEST
TUBB (1914-1984) was among the first honky-tonk singers and the first to
achieve national recognition. By the 1950s, he had become one of the most
recognizable musical stars in the world, bringing country music to the widest
audience it had ever seen. Edge slightly frayed where page was removed from a
book. Slightly soiled. Writing on each side shows through lightly. Otherwise,
fine condition.
