KARL ROVE
As Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor, Rove writes to an admirer of the President, saying "Thanks again for your support of this President and our cause"
Typed Letter signed: "Karl Rove" as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor, 1 page, 8½x11. Washington, D.C., 2007 April 12. On The White House letterhead, written to Mr. Bob DeMallie, Fontana, California, in full: "Dear Mr. DeMallie, Thanks so much for your very kind letter of February 2 and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and good wishes. I passed your letter on the President as you asked and enclosed you will find the signed picture [not included]. Thanks again for your support of this President and our cause. Sincerely" Moving to Texas in 1977, Rove played a key role in the transformation of that state from a Democratic to a Republican bastion, aiding the election of Governor Bill Clements and Senators Phil Gramm and Kay Bailey Hutchison, among others. His greatest successes, however, have come as key advisor to George W. Bush in his successful runs for Texas Governor (1994, 1998) and U.S. President. Rove is not just a skillful tactician, however, he has helped to shape the policy agenda of the G. W. Bush Presidency and the Republican Party. (He is credited with recruiting millions of new GOP voters from the ranks of evangelical Christians.) Referred to by Bush in his 2004 victory speech as "the architect," Rove was promoted in the second term to the even more important post of Deputy Chief of Staff. One horizontal fold. Slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
