actress Karolyn Grimes was born on July 4, 1940. Six years later she played the part of Zuzu
Bailey in the Frank Capra classic It's a Wonderful Life (1946). In
the film she played the daughter of the main character George Bailey, played
by James Stewart. In 1947 she appeared as Debbie in the Christmas film
The Bishop's Wife. Born in
Hollywood, California, Grimes was encouraged to act by her mother. After the
demise of both of her parents by the age of 14, she moved to live with her aunt
and uncle in Osceola, Missouri. After college, marriage and kids, Grimes had
left her role as Zuzu Bailey in the past. After resurgence in popularity for the
film, along with a number of her own personal misfortunes, she made a career
advocating the film and spreading its optimistic message. The Missourian
movie star was honored with a star on the Missouri Walk of Fame. Fine
