Boston, no date, Friday. On letterhead of The Ritz-Carlton to
"Dear Jo and Harry". In full: "Thank you a thousand times for
te (sic, the) heavenly supper party. I blush when I remember how I gabbed
but you were so charming in making me feel that you were interested." Shaded
at perimeter from prior framing, touching the lower portions of the "K" and "t".
Stray ink mark at upper margin. Overall, fine condition. With unsigned
photograph, b/w, 5½x5 overall, image 4¼x4 (one surface). Captioned at lower
margin: "As Candida". Light black mark at upper right blank margin. Fine
condition. Stage and screen actress Katharine Cornell (1898-1974), who was known
as "The First Lady of the American Theater", won a Tony Award for Best
Actress in a Play for Anthony and Cleopatra (1948). She also appeared
in a number of feature films, including Stage Door Canteen (1943), and
narrated The Unconquered (1954), the story of Helen Keller. Two
