performance. Stage and screen actress Katharine Cornell (1898-1974), who was
known as "The First Lady of the American Theater", won a Tony Award
for Best Actress in a Play for Anthony and Cleopatra (1948). She also
appeared in a number of feature films, including Stage Door Canteen
(1943), and narrated The Unconquered (1954), the story of Helen Keller.
In The Prescott Proposal , which ran for 125 performances (1953-1954),
Cornell had the title role as the US Ambassador to the United Nations. Toned and
creased. Left edge frayed from binding. Notch at left bottom edge. Corners worn.
