Emeric Kurtz", in full: "Forgive the lateness of my reply to your gentle note. I have been ill and
late with everything, but see! Time is kind and lets us catch up with our responses to friendliness. I
wish you happiness in making your life just what you want it to be. Sincerely". Novelist and
short story writer Katherine Anne Porter (1890-1980), who published her best-known novel,
Ship of Fools, in 1962, was awarded the 1966 Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award
for her Collected Stories. In 1977 she published The Never Ending Wrong, an account of the
trial and execution of Sacco and Vanzetti, which she had protested fifty years earlier. Fine
condition.
