Kathryn Cravens (1898-1991), actress, author and news correspondent,
began her career on radio as a performer. She hosted the program, "News
Through a Woman's Eyes" in the 1930s before working for CBS New York,

own news syndicate that featured stories and poems from her traveling days as
the "Flying Reporter"--a travelling project she started to help prove airlines
were safe. During World War II Cravens became the first woman accredited as a
wartime radio correspondent when she was assigned to Europe, Asia and the Middle
East. Also a radio interview host, she interviewed a wide variety of
American stars, from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Shirley Temple. Normal mailing
