Ballard". 5x4. Singer-comedian Kaye Ballard (1925-2019) appeared from the late 1940s with the bands of Spike Jones, Vaughan Monroe and Stan Kenton. She took the Broadway stage for such hits as Oklahoma and Carousel, as well as two one-woman shows. Her starring TV roles included Mothers-In-Law (1967) and The Doris Day Show (1970-1971). She has appeared in the occasional film from The Girl Most Likely (1957) to Fate (1990). In 1973, she appeared in Boston in the role of Rose in a revival of Gypsy. The production never opened in New York. Kevin Kelly (1932-1994) was a theatre critic for the Boston Globe, and Ballard seems to be responding to a negative review by him. The year soon got better for Ballard, however. On November 1 she began her starring role on Broadway in the musical Molly. Edges and corners on envelope worn. Stray pencil and ink marks on envelope. Envelope lightly soiled. Letter in fine condition.
