KEITH CHEGWIN, TONY BLACKBURN, and MAGGIE PHILBIN
Signed promotional photograph showing Keith Chegwin, Tony Blackburn, and Maggie Philbin during their time at BBC Radio 1 in the early 1980's. Extremely rare!
Printed photograph signed: "Keith Chegwin", "Tony Blackburn", "Love,/Maggie Philbin", 11¾x8¼. KEITH CHEGWIN (b. 1957) began his career as an actor but became better known as a television presenter and game show guest, appearing on series like Multi-Coloured Swap Shop (1976), Cheggers Plays Pop (1978), and Saturday Superstore (1982). Chegwin released several pop songs with Swap Shop co-hosts Noel Edmonds and Maggie Philbun under the guise Brown Sauce, with the singles "I Wanna Be a Winner" and "Spring Has Sprung" charting. Most recently, Chegwin competed on the British series Dancing on Ice (2013). TONY BLACKBURN (b.1943) is an English radio disc jockey, pop musician and actor who was a longtime host for Radio 1 London. The first radio DJ on BBC Radio 1, Blackburn hosted Radio Caroline from 1964 to 1967 when he was given his own morning show, The Radio 1 Breakfast Show. While he is mainly associated with bubble gum pop, Blackburn transitioned to soul music in the 1970s. He was also the host of The Golden Hour, Seaside Special, Radio 1's Top 40 show, and Capital Gold. While not the strongest of musicians, Blackburn released a few pop charters in his career, including "It's Only Love" (1969). Currently he presents his weekend breakfast show on 102.2 Smooth Radio London and is the host of BBC Radio 2's Pick of the Pops. Television and radio presenter MAGGIE PHILBIN (b. 1955) first began her entertainment career after graduating from the University of Manchester, seeing an advertisement in The Stage newspaper for a co-presenter opening on Multi-Coloured Swap Shop. She formed pop group Brown Sauce with fellow hosts Noel Edmonds and Keith Chegwin, and eventually married Chegwin in 1982, though they divorced later in 1993. Philbin has become a presenter on several technology themed programs in recent years, being especially praised for her work on Tomorrow's World and This Morning. Multiple folds. Binding holes on top margin. Light surface creases. Corners and edges slightly worn. Tape on verso, stained with age (no show through to front). Small stains through center fold. Otherwise, fine condition.
