Actor/singer Ken Curtis (1916-1991) is best known for his role of Festus Haggen, Marshall Matt Dillon's Deputy (1964-1975), on the medium's longest-running series, Gunsmoke. He had previously had a leading role on the TV series, Ripcord (1961-1963). Curtis had begun his entertainment career as a singer with Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra in the 1930s, joined the Sons of the Pioneers so he could singer country and western, accompanied that group into musical westerns and then got a few starring roles in films, including Stallion Canyon, 1949. Ink stamp on verso. Corners lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
