KEN "SNAKE" STABLERHis signed 2006 Upper Deck football card for the Raiders. Sports card signed: "Ken Stabler", in black felt tip, 2½x3½. American quarterback KEN STABLER (1945-2015), had plenty of plaudits to his name by the time the Oakland Raiders picked him up in 1970. He had a record of 29-1 at Foley High School in Foley, Alabama and was an All-American at the University of Alabama (1967), where he helped lead the Crimson Tide to wins in the Orange Bowl (1966) and Sugar Bowl (1967). Stabler was a pro from 1970 to 1984, mostly with the Raiders; he led the Raiders to their first Super Bowl win in 1977. He was a four-time Pro Bowler (1973, 1974, 1976 and 1977), making the first team in 1974 and the Associated Press' 1974 NFL MVP. Stabler was a scrambling quarterback in high school and college but had to change his style to passing after a knee injury. He adapted so well that he was the NFL's passing champion in 1976. After retiring from play, he was a color commentator for CBS's NFL broadcasts and on the radio for Alabama. Signature lightly beaded, but legible. Corners creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
