Inscribed signature: "To Kayo/Kenneth More",
4¼x2¾ card. Kenneth More (1914-1982, born in Gerrards Cross,
Buckinghamshire, England) was an English actor with over 60 TV shows and
movies to his credit. More came to acting as an accident. He had originally
planned on becoming a civil engineer, but the death of his father - and more
importantly, the mountain of debts he left behind - put an end to those plans.
More worked as a Canadian fur trapper before finding work as a straight man
in London's Windmill Theatre. He had several small parts in films as early
as 1935, but his "official" debut wasn't until 1948's Scott of the
Arctic. More, who ran with a wild crowd and whose personal life was
rarely out of the press, was considered a reliable leading man and a
first-rate comic actor, though his favorite role was as a shallow RAF officer in
The Deep Blue Sea (1955). He also found success as Jolyn Forsythe in
the TV miniseries The Forsythe Saga (1967). Pencil notes (unknown hand)
on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
