KENNETH WALKER
The medical doctor and spiritualist writes to arrange a
meeting.
Autograph Letter signed: "Kenneth Walker", 1 page, 5½x3½.
London, no date. On his personal notecard as Mr. Kenneth Walker FRCS [Fellowship
of the Royal College of Surgeons], in full: "Write instead to Mrs.
Pearce 31 Ennismore Gardens Knightsbridge, Tel-Knightsbridge 1965. I shall see
her tonight and tell here that you are getting in touch with her."
Kenneth Walker was a British surgeon specializing in male organs of
reproduction. He published medical studies from 1911, including
treatises on enlarged prostates. Walker moved in a very different direction
with his The Unconscious Mind (1961), which argued for the survival of
the soul, with implications for telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition and
dreams. A follow-up volume (1962) explored the topics of mysticism and higher
states of consciousness. Walker insisted that these later works were grounded in
his experience as a physician. In Walker's time, members of the FRCS often used
the title of Mr. rather than Dr., as in his letterhead. Lightly creased. Lightly
soiled. Light surface damage on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
