background. American singer and actor Kenneth Laurence "Kenny" Baker (1912-1985)
first gained notice as a tenor on Jack Benny's radio program. Baker, who
was replaced by Dennis Day when he left the show in 1939, later became a
featured performer on Fred Allen's radio show, Texaco Star Theater
(1940-1942). He also appeared in a number of feature films from
1934-1947, including College Rhythm (1934), At the Circus (1939),
The Harvey Girls (1946) and Calendar Girl (1947). Additionally,
Baker and Mary Martin co-starred in the original Broadway production of
One Touch of Venus. Lightly creased with folds, horizontal fold
touches the "Ken" of Kenny. Ink smudged at "Ken" of signature. Chipped at upper
edge, which has ½-inch tear at blank portion, upper right blank corner chipped
away. Overall, fine condition.
