Newspaper photograph signed: "Kent Nilsson", in red ink.
Sepia, 2½x4 photograph affixed to 3x4¾ cardstock (2 surfaces). Ken Nilsson
(b. 1956) is a retired NHL player of Swedish descent, playing for 9
seasons with the Atlanta Flames (1979-1980), Calgary Flames (1980-1985),
Minnesota North Stars (1985-1987), and the Edmonton Oilers (1986-1987,
1994-1995). Before the NHL, Nilsson had previously played with the WHA's
Winnipeg Jets, before the collapse of the WHA and the Jets eventual move to the
NHL. During his NHL years, Nilsson was called "The Magic Man", and
rightfully so - in 553 games, he scored 264 goals and aided in 422 assists,
adding to a total of 686 points. However, despite his impressive record, Nilsson
only won a single Stanley Cup in 1987. After the NHL, he continued to
play internationally in Europe, being named Player of the Year in Sweden in
1988-1989. Nilsson now works as a scout for the Florida Panthers. Fine
condition.
