Proclamation Signed: "Louis Philippe, D" and "Charles De Remusat". One page. 8½x10½. Dated October 8, 1840. Translated from French: "Mister de Salvandy, we inform you that the opening of the Session of the Chambers will take place, in Paris, on Wednesday 28 October, present month, and that you must attend". King Louis Philippe I (1773-1850) was King of France from 1830 to 1848. He abdicated the throne in response to the 1848 French Revolution. His father was guillotined during the Reign of Terror in 1793. Charles De Remusat (1797-1875) was a French politician who served as Secretary of State of the Interior for less than a year, from March to October 1840. His signature in that standing is extremely rare. Page lightly toned. Regular folding creases. Otherwise, fine condition. Framed in the Gallery of History style: 32x25.
