card
Signature: "King Vidor" in black felt. 5x3 card. King
Wallace Vidor (1894-1982) was nominated for the Academy Award for Best
Director in 1929 (The Crowd), 1930 (Hallelujah), 1932 (The
Champ), 1939 (The Citadel) and 1957 (War and Peace). Vidor,
who directed 64 films between 1913 (Hurricane in Galveston) and
1959 (Solomon and Sheba), returned in 1980 to helm The Metaphor.
He also wrote several screenplays and produced films, and Vidor also was
seen on the big screen in four films. Lightly toned. Pencil note (unknown hand)
on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
