Photocopied document signed in ink: "Gene Klein" (three times on page 1) and again on page 27, "Paul Stanley" (once, in blue ink on page 27), 8½x11, 28 pages, two pages blank. Also signed "Alex Hodges", Senior Vice President of Universal Concerts, Inc. Simmons has also initialed the riders 4 times ("GK"). Beverly Hills, California, 1997 March 14. Standard union contract of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada. For this appearance, part of the band's Alive/Worldwide Tour of 1996-1997, Kiss is to receive a minimum of $50,000 or 90% of the gate receipts, net of expenses, and to be paid an additional $30,000 for "Artist supplied sound and lights." KISS, formed in 1973, was the brainchild of GENE SIMMONS (bass, vocals) and PAUL STANLEY (rhythm guitar, vocals), former members of the New York-based hard rock band, Wicked Lester. The band, which also included drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley, became known for its outrageous costumes and heavy metal sound. Kiss has racked up more gold records than any other group while attracting capacity crowds on its tours. Both signed on page 27. Usual Xerox marks. Staple and rust at upper left corner.
