Autograph Sentiment signed: "Sincerely Yours/Kittie Blanchard/Rankin", 4x2½ card. Accompanied by original mailing envelope postmarked New York, N. Y., December 27, 1904. Dancer and actress Kittie Blanchard (1847-1911), who married Canadian-born actor Arthur McKee Rankin and was credited thereafter as Kittie Blanchard Rankin, made her New York stage debut with Kate Claxton at the Union Square Theatre as The Two Orphans (1874). In addition to her legitimate theatre credits in that city, she was praised for her singing and dancing in The Danites at Macauley's Theatre (1878-1879), a show she took on the road. Before her marriage to McKee Rankin, Blanchard had been courted by John Wilkes Booth, with whom she appeared on the stage in Louisville in 1864. Fine condition.
