Feinberg, Klaus Ruedenberg, and Ernest Mehler reprinted from the original article published in 1925 titled "The Origin of Binding and Antibinding in the Hydrogen Molecule-Ion" © 1970. Klaus Ruedenberg (b. 1920) earned his M.S. in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He then received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Zürich, Switzerland. After completing his post-doctoral studies, Ruedenberg taught first at John Hopkins University and then began a long-standing relationship with Iowa State University. Ruedenberg has been honored with a number of awards during the course of his academic career, two of which are the Midwest Award of the American Chemical Society and the National Award for Theoretical Chemistry of the American Chemical Society. Moreover, he is a member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Sciences and an honorary member of the International Academy of Mathematical Chemistry. He served as editor-in-chief for the journal Theoretical Chemistry Accounts for over a decade. Corners worn, especially upper left-hand corner. Rust stains and staple holes at upper left-hand corner.
