KNOCK ON WOOD MOVIE CAST: DANNY KAYE, MAI ZETTERLING
The stars of Knock on Wood are shown singing and dancing in this still from the 1954 film.
Photograph signed: "Danny Kaye", "Mai Zetterling" B/w, 10x8 . Movie still from the film Knock On Wood (1954). Danny Kaye (1913-1987), a versatile mimic, singer, dancer and comedian, moved from Broadway to films. His popular movies included White Christmas (1954) and The Court Jester (1956). The winner of an honorary Oscar (1955) and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award (1981), Kaye devoted his later years to humanitarian efforts for the world's children. Swedish-born Mai Elizabeth Zetterling (1925-1994) was an accomplished actress and director. After making her film debut in Torment (1944), she starred in Frieda (1947) before becoming more widely known to audiences by playing opposite Peter Sellers in Only Two Can Play (1962). Her documentary, The War Game, won a prize at the 1963 Venice Film Festival, and she received wide acclaim for her two feature films, Loving Couples and Night Games, which was based on her novel. Zetterling continued making occasional film appearances into the 1990s, most notably in The Witches (1990). Corners and edges worn, small tears in top edge. Lightly bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
