Michele Dusiak in 1942, singer/actress MICHELLE LEE is perhaps best known for her
Emmy-nominated role as Karen Fairgate McKenzie on Knot's Landing (beginning in
1979). In addition to her television success, Lee was also a Broadway performer, appearing in
1962's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (she reprised her role as Rosemary
Pilkington in the 1967 film version) and receiving a Tony nomination for the 1973 musical
Seesaw. Lee, who has also appeared in a number of made-for-TV films, has also starred in such
feature films as The Love Bug (1968) and The Comic (1969). The wife of actor James
Farentino from 1966-1983, Lee had been married to television producer Frank Rappoport
since 1987. DONNA MILLS (b. 1940) began her television career with recurring roles on
daytime soap operas The Secret Storm (1966) and Love is a Many Splendored Thing
(1967-1970) then as one of the harem girls in Woody Allen's Broadway production Don't
Drink the Water. In 1971, Mills co-starred with Clint Eastwood in Play Misty for Me- which
remains her most well known movie role. The 1970s were spent appearing on such TV
programs as The Love Boat, CHIPS, Quincy ME, Thriller, and The Six Million Dollar Man.
From 1980-1989, Mills starred in Knots Landing - perhaps her most prominent role ever.
JOAN VAN ARK (b.1943), is probably best known for her performances in soap operas,
including the role of Valene Ewing in Dallas(1978-1991) and the spin-off Knots Landing(1979-1993).Van Ark got her start on the stage; her performance in a Broadway revival of
The School for Wives(1971, 120 performances) earned her a Tony nomination. She made
her TV debut in 1972 in the first of many guest star performances. Van Ark recently had a
recurring role in The Young and The Restless (2004-2005) and has done occasional cartoon
voiceover work, including Spiderman (1979), It's the Pied Piper, Charlie Brown (2000) and
Grim & Evil (2004). Van Ark also shared a Daytime Emmy nomination for the 1985 CBS
Tournament of Roses Parade. Knot's Landing, on CBS from 1979-1993, is second only
to Gunsmoke as television's longest-running prime time dramatic series. Van Ark and Lee
were cast members for the entire series. Mills was on the series from 1980-1989, returning for
the final episode on May 13, 1993. Fine condition.
