Konrad Lorenz (1903-1985) was an Austrian ethologist whose influential work focused
on instinctive behavior, and imprinting, among animals. Later in life, he shifted
attention to human society, looking for connections with what he had learned about animal
behavior. Lorenz and two others won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (1973)
"for discoveries individual and social behavior patterns." Lorenz's books, including On
Aggression (1960), were influential. Scattered surface marks not evident head on. Slightly worn
at edges and corners. Pencil and ink notes on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
