Final draft script dated Jan. 15, 1973 for the Kung Fu episode A Praying Mantis Kills. Written by Robert Lewin. This episode originally aired as The Praying Mantis Kills, the 11th episode of the first season, on March 29, 1973. In some ways, Kung Fu (1972-1975) was a traditional western: a mysterious stranger with a mysterious past swoops into town, rights wrongs, then rides off into the sunset. What made the show different was the slow-motion martial arts dealt out by half-Chinese, half-American Kwai Chang Caine (one of David Carradine's most memorable roles) in a land ruled by the gun. The show was created by Ed Spielman and developed by Herman Miller, although Linda Lee Cadwell, Bruce Lee's widow, has claimed her husband created the concept for the series. Carradine received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Caine, and three other actors won Emmy Awards for their performances in Kung Fu. Lightly toned and creased. Front cover is lightly scratched. Photocopy marks. Rear cover is lightly soiled. One brass fastener is missing. Otherwise in fine condition.
