A note written on a letter from the Women's Crisis Shelter in Las
Vegas, thanking them for asking for his autographs
Autograph note signed: "Sherry/Thank you for asking!/LQ". 1p,
8½x11. Written on the bottom of a typed request for his autograph on photos that
were enclosed (not present). After playing minor character roles in plenty of
WWII films, Jones teamed up with Hollywood director Sam Peckinpah in 1962 for
the first of his five appearances in Peckinpah films. In 1975, Jones
directed the cult post-apocalyptic film A Boy and His Dog that won the
Hugo Award as Best Science Fiction Film. He turned in an interesting performance
as a Nevada gaming official in the violent and powerful Casino (1995).
Jones continues to work in Hollywood, turning up more frequently as crusty old
westerners. Light surface creases. Corners slightly worn and creased. Fine
condition.
