Show Bill signed: "Eileen/Heckart", "Estelle/Parson", "Rosemary/Murphy", "Susan/Peretz", "Jan Farrand", 44 pages, 5½x9. Playbill for a production of Ladies at the Alamo at New York's Martin Beck Theatre (April 1977), signed by all 5 members of the opening night cast. EILEEN HECKART (1919-2001) appeared on Broadway from the mid-1940s. She won a Theatre World Award for Picnic (1953) and a Drama Desk Award for The Waverly Gallery (2000). After three prior Tony nominations, she won special Tony for Excellence in Theatre (2000). She earned a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nomination for The Bad Seed (1956), and then won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Butterflies Are Free (1972). Heckart, who appeared in a number of TV series and made-for-TV movies, garnered Emmy Awards for Win Me a Place at Forest Lawn (1967) and Love and War (1974). A character actress of stage, film and television who often portrayed demented women, ESTELLE PARSONS, born in Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1927, won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Rachel, Rachel (1968). Her credits as a staff writer and feature producer include The Tonight Show, and Parsons, who had originally studied law, was the first TV network political news reporter (The Today Show). As of early 2013 she is starring in her 30th Broadway play, Nice Work If You Can Get It. Born in Germany to American parents in 1927 and educated in Paris, ROSEMARY MURPHY (1927-2014) has appeared in 15 Broadway plays, gaining Tony nominations for three: Period of Adjustment (1961), Any Wednesday (1964) and A Delicate Balance (1967). SUSAN PERETZ (1940-2004) was making her second Broadway appearance in Ladies of the Alamo. She made her feature film debut in Dog Day Afternoon (1975), and was a member of the TV casts of A. E. S. Hudson Street (1978) and Babes (1990-1991). JAN FARRAND (1928-1980) was a stage character actress who appeared in a dozen Broadway plays between 1950 and 1982.
