Photograph inscribed and signed: "To John/Lalo Schifrin." B/w, 8x9¾ overall, image 7x8¼ (one surface). Captioned: "Lalo Schifrin". Atlantic Jazz publicity photo. Lalo Schifrin is the son of the concert master at Argentina's Teatro Colón and who was a pianist/composer for Dizzy Gillespie in the early 1960s. However, he's probably best known for his many TV and movie scores, which he began writing in 1964. Schifrin's best known score is probably the theme to Mission Impossible (1966-1973), work he reprised in the movie adaptations of the TV series. His other works are the scores of the films Cool Hand Luke (1967), Bullitt (1968), Dirty Harry (1971), Voyage of the Damned (1976), and The Osterman Weekend (1983), as well as scores for The Man From UNCLE (1965-1966), Mannix (1967-1975) and Starsky and Hutch (1975-1976). Schifrin also composed the music for George Lucas' first feature film, THX 1138 (1971). Lightly toned and bowed, otherwise, fine condition.
