Card signed by a two-time Presidential candidate
Autograph Note signed "Monet/Very Best/Lamar Alexander/1995". 6x4. Alexander, born in Maryville, Tennessee in 1940, was Governor of Tennessee from 1979 to1987, federal Secretary of Education from 1991 to 1993 and was elected a Senator from Tennessee in 2002, replacing actor and 2008 presidential candidate Fred Thompson, who retired from the seat. Alexander was still senator when this biography was written. He tried, unsuccessfully, to be named the Republican presidential candidate in 1996 and 2000. He probably signed this card during his 1996 bid for the candidacy. Alexander was also president of the University of Tennessee from 1988 until his appointment as Secretary of Education in 1991. Fine condition.
