Photograph signed: "Lamar Hunt". B/w, 3½x5. Continually
frustrated in attempts to gain a NFL franchise, 27-year-old Lamar Hunt
(1932-2006) developed the idea and became a driving force behind the
organization of the rival American Football League in 1959. He founded the
Dallas Texans in 1960 and, in 1963, moved the team to Kansas City, where it
became the Chiefs. In 1966, Hunt spearheaded AFL merger negotiations with the
NFL. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1972. Fine
condition.
