LAMAR LUNDY
While playing football for the LA Rams, he applies for membership in AFTRA's Los Angeles local, in order to play a Cyclops on Lost in Space.
Document signed: "Lamar Lundy". 2 pages, 6x8¾, 1 sheet (front and verso), with 6¼x3¼ carbon copy receipt No. 094346 LA stapled at top corners. Hollywood, California, 1965 March 1. Application for membership in the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors, Los Angeles local. Accompanied by carbon copy of a payment receipt. Larmar Lundy (1935-2007) was courted by both the NBA and NFL at Purdue University. He opted for pro football, to the eternal joy of Los Angeles Rams fans. Lundy was a defensive linesman with the Rams from 1957 to 1969 and a 1959 Pro Bowler. He was also part of the "Fearsome Foursome", the left side of the starting defensive line and considered to be one of the best defensive lineups in pro ball history. Although he does not identify his acting commitment on this form, Lundy's one film credit was as a boulder-throwing Cyclops on a first season episode of Lost in Space (1965). Lundy was the first of the "Fearsome Foursome" to die. Lightly creased. Fold crease at upper edge of receipt. Otherwise, fine condition.
